For bands
Your band’s songs, from rehearsal to release.
Demos in the group chat, mixes in a shared folder, feedback in voice notes: Trackboard gathers every song of your band on one board, with its recordings, its comments and what’s left to do before release.
Sound familiar?
Organizing a band’s songs: where it breaks down
Recordings buried in the group chat
The rehearsal take everyone liked is three hundred messages up, and the latest mix sits in someone’s cloud folder.
In Trackboard: Every recording of a song lives in its track: rehearsal takes, demos, mixes and masters, each playing on its waveform.
Feedback nobody can act on
“The bass drops out after the second chorus”: on which mix, at which second? Voice notes and long messages are hard to find again.
In Trackboard: Comment on the exact second of a mix. Click a comment and the player jumps back to that moment.
Nobody sure who did what
Were the lyrics sent? Did someone register the song? In a band, everyone assumes someone else took care of it.
In Trackboard: Every stage has its checklist, and each ticked item shows who ticked it, and when.
Ten songs, ten different stages
Two being written, one waiting for vocals, three in mixing: hard to tell where the EP really stands.
In Trackboard: The board shows each song at its stage, from brainstorming to promotion, and filters on one release.
How it works
How a band works in Trackboard
One member sets things up in a few minutes, then everyone works on the same tracks.
Create the songs
Import your session folder in one go (Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, REAPER and more), or create each song by hand. Group them into the release they are heading for.
Invite your bandmates
Invite each member by username or email on the songs they play on. Inviting is free, with no limit, and each member sees only the songs they are on.
Drop in the recordings
Rehearsal takes, voice memos, demos, then mixes and masters: up to 500 MB per file, WAV included. Everyone listens to the same version, in the browser or on their phone.
Give feedback on the waveform
Each member comments on the moment that needs work, and the notes stay in the track instead of scrolling away in the chat.
Move the songs forward together
Anyone on a song can tick its checklist and move it to the next stage. Nobody can delete a song the others work on: they can only leave it.
What the band shares, what stays yours
A song is shared by everyone invited on it. The rest of your account stays personal, so side projects don’t end up on the band’s board.
Shared by everyone on a song
- Its audio files and their waveforms
- Notes and timestamped comments
- The stage it is at
- Its checklist, with who ticked each item
Yours alone
- Your board: the band’s songs you are on, and your own projects
- Your checklist template for new songs
- Your releases and your board filter
- Your plan
Questions
- How can a band organize its songs?
- Keep one list of every song with the stage it is at, one place for its recordings and feedback, and a checklist for each stage. A shared kanban board, where each song is a card moving through the stages, makes all of it visible to the whole band, which a group chat and a shared folder don’t.
- Does every band member need an account?
- Yes: each member signs up for free and gets invited on the songs. There is no shared login, so every comment and every ticked item shows who wrote or ticked it.
- Can we share WAV files?
- Yes, up to 500 MB per file on every plan. Each file plays in the browser with its waveform, on a computer or a phone.
- Can our producer or mix engineer join?
- Yes: invite them on the songs they work on, like any member. They comment on the exact second of a mix and follow the checklists of each stage.
- What happens if a member leaves the band?
- They leave the songs, or another member removes them. The files they uploaded stay on the songs for the rest of the band, and stop counting toward their storage.
